I will truly never get over documenting births. There is so much anticipation and excitement for weeks and then hours leading up to the precious moment of meeting the one you’ve been dying to meet. Getting to witness the sweet relief on mom and dad’s face as they greet their newest little one is unforgettable each time. I am always so filled up (and wanting thirty more babies) when I leave. I am truly honored each time!

This birth was even more sweet, because it was the birth of my newest nephew. This little man is the ninth kiddo between all of my siblings, and the fourth in his family. I have had the pleasure of watching some of older siblings come into this world, and each time I have gained more respect for my sister. She is incredible! It was empowering to watch her power through with such grace and strength. For my sister’s third birth, I was headed to the hospital to capture it and when I didn’t hear from my brother in law for a bit, I realized I most likely missed the birth. And sure enough, she quickly progressed in under an hour and delivered her baby girl before I made it to photograph. So for this birth, I made sure to get to the hospital as she got there, and we got to welcome baby boy within just a few hours!
